Louis Redshaw

Louis Redshaw is founder and CEO of Plannet Zero’s parent company Redshaw Advisors. He established and led the Environmental Markets team at Barclays Bank plc for ten years, centred on client needs and involving short and long-term transactions internationally.

In 2006 Louis created, and perhaps more importantly, shared with the global trading community, standardised trading documentation that allowed the secondary Certified Emissions Reduction (CER) market to trade transparently. Louis later repeated the initiative in the US by standardising terms that led to the first trades in California Carbon Allowances. He continues to promote transparency as he leads Redshaw Advisors.

Louis has fought hard to protect the integrity of carbon markets, most notably with his prominent stance on VAT fraud, carbon credit theft and the mis-selling of Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) as investments to vulnerable individuals. Louis assumed a leadership role in educating peer financial companies and various authorities including the European Commission, UK Treasury, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on the problems and potential solutions. In relation to VAT fraud and mis-selling of VERs, Louis has appeared in court as an expert witness for the prosecution side of both civil and criminal cases.

James Blunt

James Blunt is Head of Offsetting for Plannet Zero and Head of New Markets at Redshaw Advisors. He has worked in the environmental markets since 1998. Prior to joining Redshaw Advisors, he helped launch and manage the Environment Exchange at OM Group, set up and ran the environmental broking desk (compliance and voluntary carbon plus renewables) at Marex Spectron for 10 years. He also spent 10 years in renewable energy origination, finance and operation.

Anil Akalin

Anil Akalin is Head of Renewables for Plannet Zero. Anil started working in the renewable energy markets in 2001 at ABB, moving to Alstom-GE and then was Energy Country Segment Director at Securitas. She also worked with project developers, as an energy consultant, Board Member, investor and owner. She has been involved in various stages of project development, helping bring online over 6000MW of renewable energy in Georgia, Lebanon, USA (Texas) and in several European countries.

Since joining Redshaw Advisors Ltd in 2019, Anil has grown the renewable energy division, helping small, medium, and large corporates to build and realise green business models, guiding them through their renewable energy transitions. Anil’s team won Best Advisory in Renewable Energy Certificates Europe in Environmental Finance’s annual awards 2020.

Sam Hope

Sam Hope brings an important understanding of SMEs to the Plannet Zero team. A serial entrepreneur with interests in agriculture, hospitality and live events, including a carbon neutral catering company, he understands the operational difficulties and supply chain complexities that small businesses face in the race to net zero. To tackle these issues, Sam joined a tech company dedicated to developing smart carbon footprinting software accessible to every business.

Driven with an ambition to help scale the voluntary carbon market and provide transparent access for everyone Sam joined Redshaw Advisors in May 2020. His previous experiences have helped Redshaw Advisors develop new products and launch the Plannet Zero initiative in early 2021, an initiative that will help organisations clearly understand the assignment of net zero.

Arthur Wace

Arthur Wace is a Sustainability Consultant for Redshaw Advisors Ltd. Arthur worked in the financial markets for five years, working with a mixture of large corporates and institutions, with a sole focus on risk management in capital markets.

Since then he has completed the CFA investment management certificate, which gave him some colour on modelling and the environmental markets, an essential market for the future. He brings his commitment, financial markets experience and enthusiasm for sustainable change to the Plannet Zero team.

Thiago Gentile

Thiago managed corporate accounts in the hospitality industry for some years. While running catering businesses, he learned the importance of establishing transparent relationships with suppliers. This is key to his work now as he shows companies how to implement shared environmental values across their supply chain.

After discovering that an average of 50,000 trees are cut every year for the only purpose of producing wrapping papers, Thiago co-founded WrapKind, which creates gift wraps from dead stock. In less than a year, his company has prevented 300kg of fabric going to landfill, helping companies reduce their scope 3 emissions.

He joined Plannet Zero to continue helping other companies achieve carbon neutrality and all-round sustainability.

Michael Jacobs

Michael Jacobs is a Business Development Manager with over ten years’ experience working with companies of various sizes and individuals at various levels, including C-level executives. Michael specialises in contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings, planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives, researching organisations and individuals to find new opportunities, increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones, finding, and developing new markets and improving sales.

Michael is an encouraging force in the workplace and uses his positive attitude and tireless energy to motivate others to work hard and succeed. Michael is inspired daily by his two daughters. In his free time, Michael likes to play and watch sport, reading, gardening and visiting places of interest.

Tiffany Cheung

Tiffany’s interest in the voluntary carbon market is oriented toward the offsetting methods and projects at the root of all carbon credits. Tiffany is therefore primarily responsible for producing material that bridges clients, project developers and verifying bodies.

A background in exploring alternative food systems, climate change mitigation and representation, atmospheric science, and psychogeography has given Tiffany a bird’s eye view of the issues tackled by environmental markets. This is used to reach out to a range of sectors lacking a carbon-specific perspective and bring the team’s expertise into events or speaking engagements.

Outside of work, Tiffany can often be found losing track of time on a walk or at a museum.

Peter Albin

Peter is Plannet Zero’s Research Analyst.

He is responsible for analysing and evaluating the sector’s key market drivers, pricing and outlook – across all sub-sectors and geographies.

Outside of work, Peter is often taking on a challenge. Recently, he completed a half ironman race at Hever Castle.

James Brown

James is an Environmental Markets Advisor on our Voluntary Carbon Markets team at Plannet Zero. His skills, acquired through headhunting for investment banks and hedge funds, have contributed to helping organisations understand their carbon footprint, and which environmental commodities can assist them. He graduated from Leeds in French and Spanish, allowing him to work on both markets with the French and Spanish teams.

James is a big fan of sports: he will bore you for hours talking about cricket if you will listen, and likes to play tennis, rugby and lacrosse. Having worked near the Pyrenees for six months, he spent many of his weekends on ski slopes, where ‘la soupe‘ (read: slushy snow) made him passionate about finding a career where he could fight climate change from a corporate side.

Elza Tessenyi

Elza joined the Voluntary Carbon Markets team at Plannet Zero as an Environmental Markets Advisor, helping companies on their net zero journey. Her academic background in Energy Policy at Imperial College has made her a natural researcher, and recently, she started writing blogs for the website. Elza is fluent in French, Italian and Hungarian.

Outside of work, Elza enjoys reading books, but above all, she likes to cultivate her artistic side. You will find her cooking, painting or learning new skills such as pottery. She is fascinated by the beauty of nature, which has led her to study more about climate change. She loves to encourage people to research and educate themselves about the climate crisis, and this job has given her the platform to do so during her working hours, too.

Neila Ali-Chaouch

Giulia Belli

Giulia joined Redshaw Advisors in 2022 as their Aviation Specialist to support aviation in its journey to net zero. She brings almost 7 years of professional experience in aviation to the company with a particular expertise in jet fuel having worked previously for companies such as Q8aviation and China Aviation Fuel Europe.

Giulia works with airlines, airports and organisations across the aviation value chain to understand their operational difficulties and supply chain complexities, offering them support that is informative, pragmatic and meaningful.
